HY5 Sunday Night Meals
A Letter to Parents
As you may know, every Sunday, HY5 provides a delicious and nourishing snack supper for all the youth. We wish the meals came to us by magic, but unfortunately, they don't. They are prepared and served by parents. We are asking for families to consider signing up to prepare a Sunday meal. If you've never had the opportunity to volunteer for this in the past, we are asking you in particular to consider this, so that we can continue to offer this convenience and time of fellowship to your child. Here are a few things you may not know:
Ideas for meals: Sandwich rings, pasta, ziti, mac & cheese (box or frozen), hot dogs, chicken fingers, sloppy joes, BBQ pork sandwiches, meatballs, tacos. Sides: Cut-up fruit, carrot or celery sticks, salad, watermelon slices, orange or apple slices, rolls, garlic bread, applesauce. Dessert: Store baked cookies, Oreos or Chips Ahoy, brownies, Popsicles. We will call you during the week prior to your sign up date and give you an estimated head count and budget. If after prayerful consideration this is still not for you, you may want to consider donating cookies or potato chips or salad dressing to our pantry for future dinners. The first Sunday of every month is pizza night so no meal is needed. Thank you for you consideration and please feel free to contact Sue Donovan with your questions. |
